A Reduction for Automated Veriication of Authentication Protocols

چکیده

Authentication protocols (including protocols that provide key establishment) are designed to work correctly in the presence of an adversary that can prompt honest principals to engage in an unbounded number of concurrent runs of the protocol. The amount of local state maintained by a single run of an authentication protocol is bounded. Intuitively, this suggests that there is a bound on the resources needed to attack the protocol. Such bounds clarify the nature of attacks on and provide a rigorous basis for automated veriication of authentication protocols. However, few such bounds are known. This paper deenes a domain-speciic language for authentication protocols and establishes an upper bound on the resources needed to attack a large subset of the protocols expressible in that language.

A Reduction for Automated Veri cation of AuthenticationProtocolsScott

Authentication protocols (including protocols that provide key establishment) are designed to work correctly in the presence of an adversary that can (1) perform an unbounded number of encryptions and tuplings while fabricating messages, and (2) prompt honest principals to engage in an unbounded number of concurrent runs of the protocol. The amount of local state maintained by a single run of a...

Process algebraic modeling of authentication protocols for analysis of parallel multi-session executions

Many security protocols have the aim of authenticating one agent acting as initiator to another agent acting as responder and vice versa. Sometimes, the authentication fails because of executing several parallel sessions of a protocol, and because an agent may play both the initiator and responder role in parallel sessions. We take advantage of the notion of transition systems to specify authen...

Tool-supported Veriication of Cryptographic Protocols

The correct and awless design of cryptographic protocols is crucial for the security of network services. As security aws within such protocols are in general very hard to detect, their security properties must be formally veriied. A computer-supported prove is highly desirable, but formal techniques as well as automatic theorem provers are hard to use for a non-specialist. To ooer a user-frien...

Breaking Security Protocols as an AI Planning Problem

Properties like conndentiality, authentication and integrity are of increasing importance to communication protocols. Hence the development of formal methods for the veriication of security protocols. This paper proposes to represent the veriication of security properties as a (deductive or model-based) logical AI planning problem. The key intuition is that security attacks can be seen as plans...

Secure Bio-Cryptographic Authentication System for Cardless Automated Teller Machines

Security is a vital issue in the usage of Automated Teller Machine (ATM) for cash, cashless and many off the counter banking transactions. Weaknesses in the use of ATM machine could not only lead to loss of customer’s data confidentiality and integrity but also breach in the verification of user’s authentication. Several challenges are associated with the use of ATM smart card such as: card clo...
